Grow Our Food designs, builds, and maintains food-producing landscapes for homeowners, businesses, and community spaces throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. We specialize in edible landscape design — vegetable gardens, fruit trees, berry plantings, native and pollinator gardens, and full property transformations that are beautiful, productive, and built to last.

Meet the Team

Boris Kerzner owner of Grow Our Food edible landscape designer — Elkins Park PA

Boris Kerzner

Owner

Boris is a resident of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, who is passionate about creating landscapes that provide food for humans and wildlife.

He began his career as a software engineer, but later dove into the study of herbal medicine and the practice of gardening. He holds an M.S. in Sustainable Landscape Design & Planning from the Conway School of Landscape Design — one of the country's leading graduate programs in ecological landscape design. With a deeper understanding of natural systems and an enhanced toolkit, he launched Grow Our Food in 2022.

Since launching Grow Our Food in 2022, Boris has designed and installed edible landscapes across Greater Philadelphia — from backyard vegetable gardens and fruit orchards in Elkins Park and Cheltenham to native pollinator plantings in Glenside and full property transformations in Willow Grove and Cherry Hill. He has been recognized with the Sustainable Cheltenham Award, featured in the Glenside Local and BoldJourney, and teaches vegetable gardening and fruit tree classes at libraries across the Philadelphia suburbs.

Our Approach

Every Grow Our Food project starts with listening. We want to understand how you use your outdoor space, what you want to grow, and what the land itself is telling us — sun exposure, soil conditions, drainage patterns, and the wildlife already using your property. From there we design and build something that works for your life and your land, not a generic template.

We work organically and intentionally. All lawn care services are powered by all-electric equipment using renewable energy from the Energy Co-op — no gas-powered leaf blowers, no string trimmers releasing microplastics. Every installation comes with care instructions and follow-up support so your landscape thrives long after we leave.
